17 Wonderful Days in Burundi

What a wonderful time we had together with our visiting friends, Dan, Mike, and Linda. Over the span of 17 days, we had the privilege of engaging with over 200 leaders, 47 churches, and 2,000 believers through various ministries. We traveled as a team serving local churches, visiting families in villages, and experiencing the life of the beautiful country of Burundi. Let's take you through some of the highlights of this journey.

1. Serving Church Leaders

We convened with 200 leaders from 47 churches. This gathering was not merely a meeting; it was a chance to foster fellowship, share knowledge, and empower the local church leaders. The discussions we had were rich and impactful, concentrating on how we can better serve our communities.

2. Ministering to Believers

Our team was able to engage directly with over 2,000 believers throughout various ministry activities. There is something incredibly powerful in coming together in faith and welcoming the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

3. Visiting Families

We set out to visit 25 families in surrounding villages. During these visits, we shared stories, and of course, prayers. Healing and deliverance are an integral part of the Gospel.

4. School Visits

We had the opportunity to visit four schools during our travels. Education plays a critical role in the development of the next generation and to bring growth to the communities.

5. Feeding the Hungry

Two visits to the local ministry allowed us to feed the hungry. These initiatives aim at alleviating hunger and strengthening the health of the children and widows.

6. Joining Solidarity Groups

Meeting with two solidarity groups was a powerful reminder of the resilience within local communities. These groups work tirelessly to uplift each other through shared resources and support networks.

7. The Graduation Ceremony

What a joy to participate in the graduation ceremony for 28 graduates from a six-month sewing class. Watching these individuals receive their certificates and celebrating their achievements was an inspiration.

We give thanks to the Lord for the wonderful 17 days with our friends traveling throughout Burundi. The body of Christ working together to encourage and help one another build and grow is a beautiful sight.
